Standard Rooms (Renovated in spring 2017)

The rooms are decorated with bright, fresh colors, based on the natural beauty of Shinshu, Matsumoto. They are equipped with a spacious Simmons bed, a combined air purifier and humidifier, trouser press and safe.

Twin rooms have a sofa bed that is comfortable to both sit and lie on, and can accommodate 3 people. They are ideal for both families and friends.

The Standard Premium Rooms (Renovated in 2016)

The rooms were designed based on the image of a “refreshing breeze” blowing over the natural beauty of Shinshu, Matsumoto. All rooms are equipped with a Simmons bed, a combined air purifier and humidifier, a trouser press and a safe. All rooms are now non-smoking. The rooms are ideal for both sightseeing and business.

Executive Rooms (Renovated in spring 2018)

Enjoy the luxury of spending time looking down at the night view of Matsumoto. These are ideal rooms for guests who want to enjoy some special time or guests who want to experience something that is different from their everyday routine.

The dark brown interior is modern and stylish, and the comfortable king-size Simmons bed made with sheets that feel soft to the skin promises a comfortable night’s sleep. The 100% cotton waffle fabric pajamas and special amenities are only available in Executive Rooms. Guests staying on the Executive Floor can enjoy free snacks and drinks in the exclusive and stylish lounge. We can promise a comfortable stay at the hotel.

Suite Rooms (Renovated in spring 2018)

The Hotel Buena Vista Suite Rooms, which since the opening hotel have welcomed many notable guests and VIPs, were completely renovated in spring 2018.

The theme of the rooms is ‘neomodern classicism’. Offering a balance between a sense of refinement from the white coloration and a sense of openness, after the renovation the rooms are now both bright and warm, and are a very sophisticated space.

Breakfast Buffet at Hotel Buena Vista

Enjoy a colorful buffet of Japanese and Western dishes at La Café Terraze on the 1st floor. The restaurant offers a bright and airy atmosphere, filled with natural light from the spacious atrium, and features an open kitchen with interiors in calming lavender and white tones.

Freshly baked bread from our in-house bakery is a guest favorite and also available at the hotel shop “Paseo.” After your meal, take your coffee to go with our popular complimentary take-out coffee service.

Craft Beer Born Beneath Hotel Buena Vista

Brewed in the basement of Hotel Buena Vista, MATSUMOTO GAKUto BREWING takes inspiration from Matsumoto’s cultural roots — Mountains (岳 - Gaku), Music (楽 - Gaku), and Learning (学 - Gaku). Now available in a new bottled lineup — fresh from the tank to your table.

Gakuto LAGER: A smooth and balanced Japanese-style lager, featuring rich malt aroma, a clean finish, and just the right touch of bitterness.
Gakuto IPA: Citrusy grapefruit aroma, bold bitterness, and a hint of sweetness.
Gakuto WEIZEN: A classic German-style wheat ale with a delicate harmony of barley and wheat. Light, slightly tart, and refreshingly smooth.
Gakuto CHOCOLATE STOUT: A seasonal dark beer with rich cacao flavor, brewed using cocoa powder and cacao nibs.

French Restaurant "SORPRESA"

Reopened in 2019 after a full renovation, Sorpresa blends teppanyaki and French cuisine in a refined Neo-French-Japanese style — a luxurious marriage of Shinshu and Provence. Located 50 meters above ground on the top floor, this main dining space offers stunning views of the Northern Alps. Private rooms, a teppanyaki counter with a view of the city, and a lively bar counter promise a truly “FUN” dining experience.

Chinese Restaurant "SEISHIKA"

Rooted in the Chinese philosophy of “food as medicine,” Seishika focuses on health-conscious Cantonese cuisine. Over 70 dishes, from à la carte to full courses, are available with a light, elegant touch that brings out the flavor of each ingredient. Enjoy the world of Cantonese dining in a stylish, relaxed setting with warm hospitality.

Japanese Restaurant "FUKASHIRO"

Using the finest local seasonal ingredients, our chefs craft refined and delicate kaiseki cuisine that highlights natural flavors with aromatic dashi (broth) and expert technique. Savor your meal in a traditional Japanese setting, complete with private rooms and a banquet hall overlooking a floating garden that reveals different expressions by day and night.

Cafe & Dining "La Cafe Terraza"

Complimentary Hot Spring Bath at Shoho

Guests staying at Hotel Buena Vista can enjoy free access to the hot spring at Utsukushigahara Onsen Shoho.
Advance reservation and a bath ticket are required. Please contact the front desk from 9:00 on the day of use.
Bath towel and face towels are provided free of charge at Shoho.
A complimentary shuttle bus to and from Shoho is available.

Free Shuttle to Shoho Hot Spring

Shuttle bus departs from Hotel Buena Vista at 18:10 and 19:10, and from Shoho at 20:00 and 21:00.
Guests using a private car, public bus, or taxi may use the bath from 18:00 to 21:00 on the day of arrival, and from 9:00 to 15:00 on the next day.
